Reflexology

Reflexology was derived from hand and foot therapies that were documented to exist in Egypt and China over 4000 years ago. Healing through the feet was documented on the tomb of Ankmahar, a physician's tomb found in Saqqara in 2330 BC. It depicts "patients" receiving treatments to their hands and feet.

Reflexology works on the principle that organs, systems and structures within the body correspond with points on the feet and hands. By placing pressure on these areas of the hands and feet (specific reflexes) the areas of blocked energy may be released, which might restore balance to specific areas of the body. Reflexology may assist the body to heal itself more effectively and efficiently and lead to an enhanced sense of well-being and health.

Modern day reflexology has developed into a self-regulated profession, with reflexologists believing that it may benefit a variety of conditions, some of which include:-

Treatment Sessions

Your initial consultation lasts approximately one and quarter hours and involves a detailed history of current and previous illnesses/complaints, your current lifestyle and a full reflexology treatment. A typical treatment session lasts approximately between 45 minutes and 1 hour and consists of working the entire body via the reflexes on the feet, followed by focusing on reflexes related to your condition.
